About

Hi, I’m Ari, a community-driven designer, researcher, and organizer.

Coming from Minnesota, where I earned my undergraduate degree at the U of M, I moved to the SF Bay Area to complete my Masters of Architecture at UC Berkeley, and I now call Oakland home.

My interests range from queer spatial histories to germicidal UV lighting tech. As a design researcher, I’m continually drawn toward overlaps between subjects, projects, and perspectives; to the blurred edges between two or more defined spaces; and into detailed investigations of joins, connections, and edges: those designed, built, and lived. With a passion for small, tactile spaces where every detail is accounted for, I aim to shape spaces of belonging.

I’m currently open to work, with a few of my favorite recent gigs including exhibition design, FAR-UVC modeling, and lighting specification and installation.
